Rochester, N.Y. -- The two-time defending Empire 8 champion Bombers fell to second-seeded
Alfred 5-4 in the conference title match. The loss snapped Ithaca’s four-match winning streak. The team has reached the finals of all six Empire 8 championship tournaments, posting three titles and three runner-up finishes.

Junior Katherine Dempsey (Catonsville/ Baltimore Md.) and sophomore Megan Keenan (Palmyra Macedon/ Macedon) were double winners for the Bombers, winning at fifth and sixth singles, respectively, and teaming for a third doubles victory. Freshman Liz Cohen (Chelmsford/Chelmsford, Mass.) was a straight-set winner at fourth singles – stretching her winning streak to five.
